| Mark Frost - Hansons 70-77: "I came across this artwork at the weekend, and it brought back memories of the many "Yes" albums that could be found in the 5th and 6th form dorms - very 'early 1970s'. I didn't own any myself, but the style is very evocative of the period. The artist Roger Dean is still very active. Unfortunately I have no inclination to listen to a Rick Wakeman solo lasting 15 minutes!" | |||||

| Louis Parperis - Orwell 63-70: "I’m supposed to be singing with Rick Wakeman at Snape Maltings in November next year, but serious problems with his health have prevented him from completing the piece he is writing. He is due to have brain surgery soon, with a projected recovery timeline of six months, but I would not be surprised if the project ends up being shelved." Sarah Baghai: "Ah, Roger Dean! I was never into Yes but was inspired to buy this book in the 70s after buying a lot of Osibisa albums. His artwork graced their covers. Did you know Rick Wakeman now lives in Holbrook? When he’s not travelling he can be spotted occasionally in the village. I bumped into him when he was loading his shopping into his car at the Coop! I was finally able to pass on a message from a family he once knew when he lived on the Isle of Man. Their late father, a jazz pianist & presenter on Manx radio was my Manx father’s longest & best friend." |
