With
tracksuit and with rugby ball you’d march
on to the field,
You taught us how to play the game, to win and never yield.
You only had one aim, one thought: "We should always win."
And playing with the round ball was a mortal sin.
Your style was not to compromise; we were expected to be best,
And that we’d be proud to wear, Woolvo colours on our chest.
Time has moved on and now in retirement you spend your time,
No doubt those games and victories at Woolvo forever on your mind.
It is often said you were unfair and at times you could be tough,
And for us lads of eleven years old, you often seemed too rough.
But looking back on what I learnt and what Glyn Evans did for me,
You taught me that only the best would do, so thanks a lot Taffy.
